Prioritize Safety More Than A Festivity

We Filipinos are rich in undying cultures and celebrations more than anybody else. This fact further proves that even if we face tough challenges, we can still maintain happiness which helps us cope with each other. Vigan City is widely known for it's variety in festive activities. In times like this, wherein a pandemic strikes during an annually occurring event, officials and leaders of the said place must set a limits, effective protocols, or just prohibit the public from celebrating an event where there is a high risk of massive virus transmission. On the other hand, if a festival is held in a city like Vigan, what are the measures that must be considered in order to ensure the safety of the public?

First of all, the people must wear facemasks and face shields and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter apart from one another. They must also ban people that are coming from high risk areas to minimize transmission possibilities. The public must bring their own set of alcohols and sanitizers to keep the virus away from them. They must also set a minimum number of people that want to witness the fiestas. However, the people must also keep in mind that they should just stay inside their houses unless absolute necessary.

Annual gatherings like fiestas or festivals induce the highest possibilities of massive transmissions during a pandemic. The public must prioritize safety more than some visual and emotional satisfaction. However, safety protocols must be followed by the people if the case is the opposite.
