Essence and Importance of the Month of Affection

  


      The month of February is commonly known as the "Month of Love" as it's 14th day marks the Valentines Day celebration. Valentine's Day is an annual event in which lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. In addition, the said holiday is considered as the feast of Saint Valentine to honor the martyrdom of Saint Valentine of Rome, who was persecuted under the Roman empire in the 3rd century. Moreover, this remarkable event truly resembles kindness, trust and joy not only among couples, but also between friends, family and neighbors. However, there are few questions that come into play. Firstly, how do Valentine's day matter to us? In what way can it help us to cope with our love ones?

       Many couples have been separated not just by distance but also through interference of the deep connection between them induced by their lack of spare time because of their busy lives. This circumstances further strengthens the fact that the Valentine's day is absolutely a great annual opportunity for them to redeem themselves to each other and take their time to restore and toughen the bridge to both of their affection and understanding.

      Most lovers spend their time during valentines day through giving and receiving chocolates, flowers, and having romantic dates. This is a great illustration on why this holiday is important to all of us. A deeper communication with our loved ones helps relieve our stress, bring happiness, and express our problems and concerns to one another. Additionally, this holiday serves as a gateway for openness among all couples and lovers.

        It is a common misconception that the celebration of the Valentine's day only focuses on couples and lovers. In reality, the said event is also applicable to anyone with their friends, families, teachers, and neighbors. Furthermore, the valentine's day celebration's true essence is not from exchanging chocolates nor giving flowers, its true importance is to express one's concern and love through loyalty and kindness.
